Accommodation
Owned and designed by an acclaimed British interior designer and her family, the two-storey Uma Nina sits in peaceful gardens. From its hilltop position, it commands unobstructed views over southern Bali, the sea and distant Gunung Agung volcano.Inside, natural materials and crisp contemporary design harmonise with Balinese furnishings to create calm, light and spacious interiors. Outside, you are greeted with a guesthouse, swimming pool, pavilion and idyllic secret garden set into manicured lawns.
Approach and Entrance
Tucked into private grounds, Uma Nina is a haven of tranquillity. As you approach the main house, you are greeted with a serene circular courtyard dominated by a playing Balinese fountain. The entrance to the villa is as elegant and tropical as its surroundings. At the end of an open-sided porch, two fine Balinese stone statues guard the heavy wood front door.
Living Spaces
Step into the sleek, open-plan living space that forms the heart of Uma Nina. Muted stones and creams co-ordinate with Balinese antiques, carved wood and plump sofas, surrounding you with comfort. A solid wood dining table for 10 guests stands nearby. From the living room, expansive floor-to-ceiling glass doors lead to the pool deck and offer panoramic garden views. Climb the staircase and you will also find a huge balcony furnished with a large sumptuous sofa perfect for early evening drinks and soaking up the views.
Kitchen
Set off the main living space, the Uma Nina kitchen embodies sleek and chic. Thoughtfully equipped with state-of-the-art appliances, it incorporates a fan oven, hob, freezer, microwave and large American-style refrigerator. Conjure up your own Balinese banquets using fresh ingredients and spices from the local markets. Or ask your personal chef to prepare your choices from the delicious in- house menus or perhaps even your own favourite dishes.
Bedrooms
Uma Nina offers five/six beautiful, air-conditioned bedrooms. The main house’ ground floor has a stunning master bedroom with a king-sized four-poster bed, en-suite bathroom with shower and natural stone bathtub and a secret garden with its own private Bali. Completing everything is two upstairs four-poster bedrooms and a downstairs guest bedroom with two queen-sized beds that can form a double, all with en-suites. The guest house, meanwhile, has a double bedroom and spa room/double bedroom, both with ensuite showers.

For outdoor dining, there is a superb six-burner barbecue for you or the house cook to sizzle up fresh seafood and other meals. And off the master bedroom, an exquisite private garden with a terrazzo bathtub awaits.
Entertainment
Uma Nina is equipped with cutting-edge media and entertainments. Unlimited wireless Internet is provided and the main house has a flatscreen satellite TV in the master bedroom and iPod docking stations. The guesthouse, meanwhile, boasts a widescreen plasma TV, cable, DVD player, surround sound, Wii box with games and a full-size American pool table. There is also a full library of books, selection of toys and games, and outside, a large petanque pitch and croquet and badminton sets.

Uma Nina has a delightful team of trained, uniformed staff, including a cook, housekeepers, gardener, security guards and driver whose services are included in the day rate.
They will provide local food shopping and cooking, with your cook preparing your chosen dishes from in-house menus or any special requests you might have.. In addition, we can arrange Balinese massages and spa/beauty treatments for guests in Uma Nina’s spa room.

The impressive fully air-conditioned five-suite sprawling Residence has dual purpose fold back design features with floor to ceiling glass doors and panels that allow the property to be completely opened to allow for cool ocean breezes and an alfresco atmosphere, or which can be fully enclosed to enjoy complete air-conditioned comfort.
The five-bedroom property encompasses an 84m2 Master Suite (Ambhara) that opens onto a private deck, plunge pool and gazebo. It features a romantic canopied king size bed, a vast indoor and outdoor bathroom and a study cum lounge which looks out to the shimmering Indian Ocean.

The architectural and design principal behind THE SHANTI RESIDENCE is attributed to leading Balinese Architect Popo Danes whose idea to integrate progressive designs, facilities and services with traditional Balinese architectural elements ensures a timeless appeal.
I give space to play, states Popo. Simplicity is my signature. I believe that architecture comes together with landscape and the interiors as a whole. It’s really looking at one big picture. I don’t like to dominate, but to complement what is around me he says.

Villa Sembilan offers several renting options to holiday makers. The master bedroom and study half of the villa can be closed off to provide a charming 2 bedroom villa with it’s own pool and private entrance. This option has 1 king bed and 2 single beds and is suitable for a maximum of 4 guests. The adjacent main villa has three large bedrooms each with king sized beds. This option which is suitable for a maximum of 6 guests, also has a living and dining pavillion as well as the main pool. All four bedrooms and study have air conditioning, and bathrooms attatched. The fully appointed rooms use the highest grade of white fresh linen and soft pillows for peaceful relaxation at the end of your vacation day.
All rooms have pool & or garden views. The modern interior design contrasts with the traditional alang alang (thatched) roofing. The private en-suite bathrooms with double sinks and modern facilities ensure a unique Bali outdoor bathing experience. The Main House consists of three air-conditioned bedrooms completed with en-suite bathrooms; a large dining area over viewing the swimming pool and garden; a warm welcoming spacious living area; air-conditioned TV room; a fully equipped kitchen with small comfortable dining area and pantry room on the other side. A modern design wine cellar between the kitchen and main dining area adds the luxurious feeling of the villa. The leisure of the living room is added by the pool table on the upstairs room.
On the other side of a lush garden, lays the second building for the Guest Wing consists of two air-conditioned bedrooms also completed with en-suite bathroom, a living area, kitchen and a plunge pool. The two buildings are connected with a lush tropical garden which holds a thatched roof bale and a large overflow swimming pool. The two buildings share an enclosed car park which can hold several vehicles. All the modern equipment such as large TV screen, stereo sound system, DVD players as well as wireless high speed internet connection is provided to ensure the necessary international high level of comfort.
