Nestled in the rolling green rice terraces close to Canggu, Villa Frangipani is a peaceful rural sanctuary, built on the side of a small valley. With a tranquil river at the foot of the garden, this charming villa is hidden away from all the worldly hustle and bustle, enveloped by tall trees and mature gardens to ensure total privacy.

The villa buildings have a regal Javanese feel with shingle roofs, wooden floors and solid wood doors and window frames. All the rooms feature giant oversized pieces of antique furniture with enormous and romantic day beds a particular treat. A covered outdoor living area opens out from the indoor living room, providing a great space for al fresco dining and an adjacent sun deck promotes all day lounging by the pool.

Concealed at the bottom of the garden is a separate bedroom bungalow with en suite facilities. The bungalow is fronted by its own covered terrace, which overlooks the gardens. With its proximity to the river, this is the perfect spot to sit and watch colorful kingfishers and other native bird life, flitting up and down the river valley.

Private driveway. Entrance through Balinese gates, across fish ponds onto indoor living and dining area. Booking Villa Frangipani

Villa Bunda is both a luxurious and exquisitely designed private home situated within the 100 hectare Nirwana Bali Golf and Spa resort. Enter the villa through traditional Balinese gates where you will find lush tropical gardens accompanied by fish ponds which sit either side of the front door allowing each of its guests to experience a peaceful ambience. The living and dining area at Villa Bunda features large comfortable sofas, a dining table which seats eight persons comfortably, a plasma television with cable connection, DVD player, Bose surround sound system, IDD telephone and computer internet connection. The villa interior features some elegant pieces from Warisan, Vinoti and other parts of Indonesia and the world.

The kitchen is western designed and fully equipped with refrigerator, microwave, oven, coffee machine and appliances. The villa has its own menu selection where the villa chef can cook up a storm. There is an upstairs open-air and fan-cooled living and dining pavilion with additional day beds, television, cable connection, DVD, CD and video player with movie library, which makes for the perfect entertainment area. Villa Bunda also boasts spectacular views of the Indian Ocean.

There are four air-conditioned bedrooms each with a private bathroom en-suite. The master bedroom has a four poster bed with mosquito net, perfectly designed with warmth and comfort. The Villa

Villa Bayad is a spacious, luxurious 4 bedrooms villa, designed by Popo Danes, one of the most renowned architects in Southeast Asia. The villa is traditionally laid out as a compound, the 4 bedrooms being separate houses beside the main house, all connected by flower-covered pergolas. From every room there is a beautiful view across the surrounding rice terraces to Bali’s sacred volcano in the horizon.

The Staff

In the villa a full time staff of 8, including maids, driver, cook and gardeners, is ready to make sure that your stay here will be unforgettable.

The Garden

Surrounded by 8000 m2 garden, laid out as sloping terraces and bordered by a small river, you will constantly experience the amazing touch of un-disturbed nature.
Moving through jungle-like vegetation, you will arrive at the traditional gate and lobby, where the magnificent view of the garden and the rice fields awaits you.
In the garden there are numerous coconut palms and fruit trees, and the organically grown vegetable- and herb-gardens supply the villa’s household.

The Main House

The spacious living and dining area opens to a large veranda, surrounded by flower covered, multi-level fishponds and flanked by two comfortable bales, where you can relax, listening to the sprinkling water and enjoying the beautiful view.
An open, fully equipped kitchen is ready for the staff to prepare your meals on your request – or feel free to use kitchen by yourself, if you prefer to cook your own meals.
Just couple steps upstairs in the main house you will find an air-conditioned media room with mini library and hi-quality audio- and video experience.

The Bedrooms

The 4 spacious air-conditioned bedrooms are all separate houses, two of which are sharing a private open kitchen- and dining-bale as well as a private springwater fed plunge-pool and a pooldeck. More, each house offers a furnished veranda and bathroom with complete sanitary, shower-cabin, and a small walled garden with outdoor shower.
All bedroom are equipped with Cable TV and DVD-player, and the beds are dressed with the best quality of cotton bed linen. The 4 houses are differently styled and named after four distinguished locations in Bali:

The Main Pool

The huge 18 by 5 meter pool is spring-water fed and flanked by a spacious hardwood pooldeck furnished with numerous sun beds and sunshades. Protruding into the pool is a traditional bale, where you can relax in the shade.

The Teriyaki Kitchen

Connecting to the pooldeck is the teriyaki kitchen with cafe-tables and -chairs. Here you can enjoy your drinks, snacks or poolside-meals from the genuine teriyaki grill.

The Lotus Bridge

The Master Suite

To awaken in the Master Suite is a truly magical experience. The view from your kingsize bed overlooking the dense tropical palms provides a constant reminder of the untapped natural surroundings of the estate. The bedroom feels as though it is “floating” over the jungle below

The yellow-themed master suite comprises an air-conditioned study room, which is almost completely surrounded by glass, an air-conditioned TV room with a wall-mounted, 32-inch screen satellite TV, DVD player and quality sound system, a bedroom, dressing area and bathroom. There are two open air seating areas:-the “sunken lounge” overlooking the jungle and ideal for an early morning cup of tea, and an open-air relaxation bale with a huge cushioned daybed. The bale is a great spot for relaxing with a book or a cocktail; it enjoys gorgeous views of the garden and the sunsets.

One Bedroom Villas

Each air-conditioned bedroom is housed within a self-contained pavilion, secluded and private. There are two one bedroom villas, the “red room” and the “blue room” which both accommodate comfortable queen size beds.

Both bedrooms enjoy plenty of light, and each boasts its own verandah at the front, affording wonderful views of the valley. Each bedroom features sliding glass doors at the front, and windows on two sides, making the most of the spectacular views; when the doors are opened the interior becomes at one with nature.

Twin Bed Villa

One villa has been specifically designed with friends or children in mind and has two twin beds within a similarly designed setting. The beds can also be moved together to accommodate couples

Each of the cream terrazzo bathrooms are bordered by a bulrush pond, and each features a sunken soaking tub, a toilet within its own frosted glass cubicle, and a spacious, glass shower cubicle. Glass doors fold open to create an open-air experience. Guests’ privacy is protected by the presence of peaceful Buddha statues, each one resting in front of the high walls that girdle each pond.

Living Areas

This is the social hub of the villa, an impressive symmetrical two tier building which presides over the terraces and swimming pool. The upper level includes a hip cocktail bar, huge lounge area, a dining area and an open breakfast bar. This area can be as intimate or grand as required. For more formal entertaining it’s capable of housing up to seventy seated for dinner on the upper level or over one hundred for cocktails and canapés. The fan-cooled spaces feature glass walls that can be opened up completely to create a truly tropical open-living experience or an alfresco dining experience.

The lower level includes two cosy inlets perfect for massage treatments, an eighteen metre infinity pool overlooking your own jungle paradise and a large poolside area, perfect for open air daytime dining. The poolside is also the perfect party venue with the capability to house up to one hundred guests for sunset cocktails!

Dining Room

The large dining room is a mirror version of the living room, situated on the opposite side of the open-air terrace. The room is furnished with an impressive glass-topped dining table that seats fourteen people in comfortable cushioned dining chairs. Like the living room, it boasts glass walls on three sides, which folds open onto the terrace. The Estate’s chef will prepare for you a sumptuous meal to your own personal taste, ensuring you will enjoy fine dining in this al fresco setting.

Billiard and Games Room

Many a billiard game can be played out in this modern billiard room, located in a private room off the ‘Hub’. The room houses a billiard table, a chess set, two big armchairs and a host of bar stools positioned next to a bar-shelf, where guests can sit and rest their drinks while watching their opponents at work.

Poolside Dining Area

Whether you decide to enjoy breakfast or lunch here the poolside dining lounge is a cool, informal area to snack and chat in the midst of nature’s luxury. Set at the side of your own eighteen metre pool, this cosy niche is perfect for breakfasts and lunchtime buffets alike!

The Pool

Undeniably one of the largest villa pools on the island, an infinity pool rests at the foot of the Hub, fed into by a fifteen metre cascading water feature.

The 18 x 6 metre swimming pool features two infinity edges and boasts an ironwood deck that extends the length of the pool and almost appears to float upon the surface of the water. There is a separate pool designed for the kids..or kids at heart!

Both decks are furnished with sunbeds and umbrellas, and there is also an outdoor pool-shower.

The pool is lined with a stunning slate stone that sparkles with streaks of gold. Next to it is a white Palimanan stone pool bar with a table and built-in cushioned daybeds for lounging and enjoying barbeques, tapas, drinks or expressos from the bar.

Booking The Arsana Estate

Villa Maya its Absolutely Beachfront Villa.

This absolute beachfront villa is characterised by a garden that extends directly onto a private 24-metre beachside buff with timber decking, towering coconut palms, and wooden steps leading down to the beach. This is the place to chill out and gaze at the graceful kites scattered throughout the sky, or watch both the sunrise and the sunset create a warm pink glow across the mysterious, towering, sea-cliffs of Nusa Penida Island .

In addition to the wonderful views, the garden of the two-storey Villa Maya also boasts a lotus pond and a 16 x 4 metre lap pool, which is 1.8 metres in depth and lined with green Java stone. A small spa rests next to a large bale bengong (relaxation pavilion), together with an outdoor shower, sunloungers, timeworn stone-carvings, terracotta carved wall panels, palms, sweet scented frangipani trees and coastal shrubs and plants. The spa space is unique to this villa and the bale in this villa is the largest in the complex.

Villa Maya’s semi open-air living and dining area borders the swimming pool. Open at each end, equipped with bamboo blinds and cooled by ceiling fans, this is tropical living at its very best. A Jacuzzi extends into the living space and overflows into the pool creating an attractive waterfall feature. A hi-fi system with surround sound is provided for the entertainment of the guests, and wireless high-speed Internet access allows guests to send and receive their e-mails inside the villa or beside the pool, in the garden or on the beach. The contemporary furniture is set off by a myriad of textures from smooth white Palimanan stone to carved antique doors framed by dark grey volcanic rock. Impressive local artwork adorns the walls, harmonized with primitive artifacts. A rustic coffee table, and comfortable sofas and chairs, are complemented by richly colored silk cushions, together with a woven rattan and wood-skin mat resting upon the Merbau wood floor. A striking feature is the curved floating staircase, fashioned in richly patterned wood and supported by eight columns. The open plan dining area is furnishing with a table for eight and overlooks another lotus pond. The pond is traversed by stepping stones that lead through a pebbled courtyard to the fully equipped service kitchen where the staff will prepare delicious meals. Every need of the guests has been considered, and a particularly thoughtful touch is the provision of a barbeque. A series of wide stone pillars create a partition, for privacy, between the kitchen and the living and dining area.

The air-conditioned master suite, complete with en-suite bathroom and wide balcony, covers the whole of the upper floor under a soaring pitched roof. A king size bed is made up with top quality linens and a red and black Chinese silk bedcover. Rich drapes frame the windows, local paras stone bricks form a wall behind the bed, old photographs enhance the decor, and a wooden cabinet houses a satellite TV, DVD and CD player. Glass doors and fly screens open out onto a timber balcony deck commanding breathtaking views of the coastline and ocean. The en-suite bathroom comprises two mirrored dressing rooms with ample storage space, together with two separate washing areas linked by a covered balcony walkway. This clever design allows the dressing rooms and bathroom to be accessed by two different doors from the bedroom, and the walkway is enclosed with fretwork wooden walls, which allow the cool breezes to permeate. One of the grey terrazzo-floored bathroom areas features a black terrazzo corner bathtub and twin washbasins. The other area features a shower, toilet and washbasin.

The two guest suites air-conditioned bedrooms are located downstairs and are mirror images of each other, each with en-suite bathroom with lava stone walls and floor, satellite TV, DVD and CD player. Glass doors and fly screens in each room open onto a personal terrace furnished with daybeds, and a dressing area is located behind the bed. Each garden bathroom features ‘his’ n’ hers’ washbasins, toilet, and a black terrazzo sunken bathtub and shower, bordered by plants, together with a three-tiered running water feature, and a wall for privacy.

About Jajaliluna

The symmetrical villa is comprised of three separate, self-contained pavilions positioned around a stunning swimming pool, adjacent to a flat green lawn within a walled courtyard garden. The main 2-storey pavilion houses the living room, together with a breezy upstairs mezzanine and balcony, and four bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms. There is also a family lounge, which doubles as a yoga pavilion, and an elegant dining pavilion. Taking advantage of the villa’s tropical location, all of the rooms boast large teakwood-framed glass doors that can be pocketed away to allow the cool breezes to circulate, thereby ensuring that guests can enjoy the full impact of the surroundings while sheltered from the elements. Accommodation

A snaking pathway leads from a spacious car parking area to the main entrance marked by an unusual pivot door. Visitors will then cross an ornamental pond flanked by twin palm trees and firebowls.

Water plays a central and important role in the agriculturally-based culture of Bali, and this has been reflected in the layout of the property. A stunning swimming pool has been designed to link the three pavilions. The pool flows with the living design and joins everything together, coming right up to the edge of the rooms to create an intimate connection between each pavilion. A timber sundeck extends from the main living area, and Palimanan stone sun terraces are situated opposite each other on either side of the pool. One terrace is furnished with sun-loungers and umbrellas, the other with a barbeque and a large table with bench seats for alfresco dining. Additional shade is provided by two twisting frangipani trees; during the day these sweet-scented flowering trees cast cool shadows, while at night they appear to dance on the shimmering water of the pool.

All four air-conditioned bedrooms, with their en-suite bathrooms and cream terrazzo floors, are the same size and shape; two are located downstairs and two are located upstairs, mirror images of each other in keeping with the perfect symmetry. Three of the bedrooms are furnished with king size beds with diaphanous white drapes. The fourth bedroom, upstairs, is fitted out as a children’s room, designed to sleep four kids in bunk beds. Each bedroom is complemented by fitted white louvre wardrobes, white storage units and white curtains.

Architecture

Designed by the internationally-acclaimed, Bali-based architect Glen Parker of ‘Glen Parker Architects’, Villa Jajaliluna is a masterpiece that blends the very best of modern Balinese architectural elements with elegant finishes and superior amenities. The architecture of the villa utilises local materials including ironwood shingles for the roof, creamy white Palimanan stone, Bengkirai wood floors, cream terrazzo, white pebbled pathways and decorative pebbled borders.

The fresh white walls and furnishings, the warm brown of the teakwood frames, and the cool aquamarine and cobalt blue of the ceramic pool tiles, form the dominant colours, juxtaposed against the greenery of Bali’s exotic plants. The style is based on the concept of the traditional Balinese family compound with a separate building or ‘balé’ for each function, and a licence to amend the purpose of each in accordance with the comforts of modern living. Recessed lighting creates a romantic ambience at night.

The 4-bedroom Villa Jajaliluna is a peaceful oasis, nestled in the heart of the fashionable Oberoi area on Bali’s south-western coast. Twenty-five minutes’ drive from the international airport, and convenient for all of the main shops, tourist attractions and vibrant nightspots, the villa is just 100 metres from the magnificent Seminyak beach, renowned for its world-class surf breaks, panoramic coastline views and legendary sunsets. A wide choice of world-renowned fine dining restaurants, including the famous KuDéTa, Hu’u, Living Room, and La Lucciola are all within a five-minute walking distance.
